The dangers of lack of physical movement

The dangers of lack of physical movement are more pronounced in women than in men.

The dangers of lack of physical movement

Women have three times the amount of body fat as men, and they also have twice the nerve cord tissue. Inactivity can affect a woman’s brain, causing diminished attention span and emotional concerns. Men, on the other hand, have the opposite problem: they tend to have higher levels of nerve impulses and a faster response time when it comes to physical activity. Men have a lower risk of heart disease and strokes because of their activity level.

Both men and women have similar concerns about blood clots, but the risks are different for women. Women who are inactive are more likely to develop conditions like thrombosis, which reduces blood flow to the legs. This increases the risk of bleeding to the legs, which can be life-threatening. If you do not move around often, your legs may become less dense, and this is a condition known as leg osteoporosis.

Women have higher risks

The dangers of inactivity are greater for women because they have smaller hearts and lungs. The coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart are not as large in women as in men. Additionally, women have smaller livers, which are involved in filtering the blood of toxins. The kidneys are not as efficient in filtering toxins in women as in men, which means they waste more fluids, contributing to the buildup of toxins in the body. Lack of physical activity contributes to a condition called atherosclerosis, in which the arteries that supply blood to the heart become dense and build up plaque, clogging the coronary arteries.

The sedentary life

The hazards of inactivity are magnified if you are sedentary, which means that you spend your days sitting or lying down for extended periods of time. Sitting in one place all day contributes to low circulation. It is not just sitting that contributes to poor circulation; if you stand up to stretch your legs or move your body from side to side while sitting, you will also lessen the circulation in your legs. Sitting all day weakens the muscles in your thighs, back, abdomen, and buttocks, and makes it easier for age-related declines in muscle strength to occur.

Mothers physical or mental exercise

The dangers of lack of physical activity are increased inactivity among mothers, who have to care for their children physically and emotionally while they are at home and unable to get much physical or mental exercise. Many mothers complain that they cannot get any physical or mental exercise during the day because they are caring for their children, feeding them, bathing them, and doing other household chores. Lack of sleep, as indicated by sleeplessness, reduces the body’s ability to repair itself and makes it more susceptible to injury and disease. A lack of physical movement can contribute to an increase in the chances of developing heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, and other ailments.

In conclusion

The dangers of lack of physical activity should not prevent us from getting the daily recommended amount of physical activity each day. There are many enjoyable ways to exercise, such as walking, jogging, stair climbing, swimming, tennis, racquetball, and many other activities that are fun and free. A simple search on the internet will show many different kinds of fun and interesting exercises that you can do with your family. Exercise is important for everyone’s health and well being, and we can all benefit from a little more cardiovascular activity each day.
