True Warrior Mindset – Part 2 – How to make a decision and act responsively

Characteristics of a True Warrior Mindset Part 2

You might be wondering why you should train to be a modern-day warrior and embrace a warrior mindset. What’s wrong with simply unwinding and appreciating life?

While there’s nothing wrong with relaxing in general, and we all need to unwind and lighten up now and then, there are a number of situations in which our kind and domesticated nature fails us.

Consider any situation in which a rapid and decisive choice is required. Few of us are compelled to make life-or-death decisions any longer, which is why so many of us struggle with even the simplest, most straightforward judgments. When faced with the task of deciding what to eat, we become paralyzed.

How long do we have struggle to understand we are in the wrong path?

We put off key employment decisions to the detriment of our careers, which often results in significant financial losses. We continue in unhappy relationships and employment, and we frequently lose the respect of those around us, simply because we can’t make up our minds and take decisive action.

This is an excellent example of a situation where having a harder, more warrior-like mindset would be extremely advantageous. Here’s how you can go about doing so.

Why are you dragging your feet?

It’s important to consider what’s causing you to delay in the first place in order to assist you make decisions faster and more efficiently.
The answer to that question for many of us has something to do with dread:

The fear of making the wrong decision.

This is clear in some cases: we may be afraid to choose which stock to invest in or which job offer to accept because we don’t want to face the repercussions of making the wrong decision: being stuck in a job we don’t like and/or losing a lot of money.

Many of us, however, find it difficult to make decisions on a smaller scale. It’s like deciding what to eat for dinner! If your wife or spouse asks what you want, you can respond, “I don’t mind.”

‘Just make a decision!’ they replied.
‘Why don’t you make a decision?’ you say.
Does this ring a bell?

So what’s the issue here?

The issue here is that you don’t want to be held responsible if you make a mistake and anger your partner. If you make a poor decision and they do not enjoy supper, it may put them in a foul attitude.

Similarly, you may actually want to be courteous and give them the option.

How to Make Quick Decisions and Have More Authority

So, how do you overcome this flaw and begin making faster decisions?
The answer is simple: you learn to accept responsibility and face the consequences.

This means you can propose that the other person make a decision first, and then you can make your decision. Accept that you will make mistakes from time to time. Accept the possibility that they are upset. But don’t wait any longer; just accept the consequences.

The same is true when it comes to picking a job, a project, or ending a relationship…

True Warrior Mindset: In Conclusion

Run through the possible outcomes of each decision quickly and simply. One is horrible, and the other is even worse. Stop stressing about doing it wrong and just remind yourself that if that scenario occurs, you’ll deal with it.
