Diets that are too fast are never a good idea because they do not guarantee long-term, lasting and effective results, on the contrary they can adversely affect the well-being of the organism and in some cases also on health.
Unfortunately, however, with the approach of the swimsuit test just a few months ago we were too many to be tempted by the persuasive promises of fast diets.
When is a diet considered "fast diet"
As the name implies, these diets are called that because they do not require physical effort to give visible results; Weight loss is significant, which is why they have become very popular especially among women.
Fast diets are characterized by suspending a group of foods from our regular diet (what we would call low-calorie or low-calorie diets), forcing our body to consume energy from our body stores, also forcing our body to burn the reserves of fat.
These are carbohydrate-free diets, where protein and fat are consumed, but no source of carbohydrates (flours); that is to say that vegetables, fruits, flours and cereals are not consumed.
But what are the consequences?
As we have seen on other occasions, skipping meals or drastically reducing calories and essential nutrients is detrimental to our body and counterproductive also to the diet, because the body will regulate itself accordingly storing any food as fat for future “famines” which it foresees that we will submit it.
For this reason, many diets call themselves yo-yo because if they are incorrect from the point of view of nutrients and the necessary caloric intake they will have the effect of making us lose weight only temporarily, determining the return to the initial weight in a short time, often even exceeding it.
On an emotional level, too punitive diets are frustrating because they require net deprivation that is not good for the mood as well as the body. Usually then to be sacrificed are carbohydrates and fats, which cannot and must never be eliminated altogether, because they are the essential nutrients to make the body work, some supplying the necessary energy, others helping the body to assimilate others essential nutrients. Metabolism suffers and its functioning is compromised.
- In Conclusion
Perhaps we want to make a good fast diet for a particular situation, in that case, the best way is to look for a nutritionist who can help us create the perfect diet for us and change our eating habits, otherwise, we will only be able to cause health problems , and those could lead to very serious repercussions. Remember that all organisms are different, and what works for one does not necessarily work for another.
