Sunflower seeds, Their Vitamins and Health

Vitamins are essential for maintaining health. Vitamins A, C, E, B-complex, etc. are particularly important for supporting the healthy function of human cells.

However, if there is a lack of vitamin A in your diet, or if you are exposed to too much stress, your body may not be able to rejuvenate cells as it should, leading to chronic disease, accelerated aging process, and even brain damage.

Stress is known to contribute to many physical disorders. One such problem is low immunity, which can lead to certain types of cancers and other illnesses. Sunflower seeds contain high amounts of an antioxidant type of vitamin that plays an important role in the health of your immune system and your skin.

Antioxidants

Antioxidants slow down the oxidation process of bad cells, while they help good cells survive and grow healthy. Oxidation, also called reactive oxygen species, is a chemical reaction that is necessary for every cell to grow and do what they need to do, to keep the cell membranes intact.

Sometimes, though, the oxidation process goes way out of control, causing damage to the cell membranes, and the cells start to die.

Free radical molecules develop and attach to the membrane, causing cellular damage. This oxidative stress may contribute to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and even vision loss. Researchers have been researching ways to slow down the process.

Organic FructoLess

The good news is, there is a natural source of vitamin A, or it could be extracted from another source, that is, food. But there is one problem. Most food based vitamin A derivatives do not contain antioxidants, so they are useless as vitamins.

The best source of natural vitamin A is found in foods that are high in the substance called beta carotene, which is related to retinol. Foods such as sunflower seeds contain high amounts of this vitamin.

Beta carotene is responsible for darkening of skin, which is why people think that tanning helps to ward off age-related skin diseases. It helps to maintain good immune system functions. Some people believe that vitamin e can help protect against free radical damage as well.

Taking Supplements

In the meantime, taking vitamin supplements may help. There are many foods that contain high amounts of vitamin A. Vitamins such as A, E, D, and K should be consumed on a regular basis. However, if you don’t consume foods with high levels of these vitamins, your body will have to compensate by producing its own, so-called “fast” molecules.

These may contribute to the formation of free radicals. Free radicals are what cause wrinkles, age spots, and other visible signs of aging.

Vitamin A, however, is best absorbed when it is in its unprocessed state. The best way to do this is to eat foods such as carrots or sweet potatoes, which are rich sources of vitamin C.

Some people also prefer to eat fruit instead of vegetables, for the rich sources of vitamin C. It’s also important to eat foods rich in antioxidants, such as blueberries and broccoli. Aside from helping improve cell health, antioxidants are also believed to prevent chronic diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disease.

In terms of eating foods rich in vitamin B1, the recommended diet is made up of foods rich in vitamin B1 and vitamin c, especially dried beans. For those who don’t like dried beans, you may include dried fruits instead.

Fruits like spinach and carrots contain a form of vitamin B1. Other foods that are good sources of vitamin b1 include whole grains, fish, eggs, nuts, and whole milk.

Vitamin c is also found in citrus foods like oranges and grapefruits. Although milk is one of the good sources of vitamin c, other foods with high quantities of vitamin C can be pretzels, oranges, strawberries, and pickles.
